FAQ

Questions about the $19 and $49 HVACPreCheck options

The purchase path uses two homeowner-facing options: the $19 Permit Decision Brief and the $49 Full Quote Review. This page keeps the scope, delivery timing, and boundaries consistent.

$19 Permit Decision Brief

City, ZIP, and project type drive an automated permit decision brief: route level, public-source links, items to confirm, and ready-to-send authority / contractor questions. It does not review a contractor proposal.

Automatic decision brief generated from your intake and curated public-source routing notes

$49 Full Quote Review

Use this as the next step when a real contractor proposal needs review. It includes the Permit Decision Brief scope, then adds secure quote upload before payment, an order-linked receipt, and a final Full Quote Review manually reviewed by Bryan Shubert. A completed $19 brief can be applied once toward the $49 total.

Final report manually reviewed by Bryan Shubert within 1-2 business days after payment confirmation and secure quote-document upload

What does the $19 Permit Decision Brief include?

$19 Permit Decision Brief gives you an automatic decision brief generated from your intake and curated public-source routing notes. It covers City/ZIP and project-type route to available public authority sources, Decision status plus permit-path items, documents, and inspection points to confirm, Building department call script and contractor clarification email, Public-source notes with the report source-routing date.

What does the $49 Full Quote Review include?

$49 Full Quote Review includes the $19 Permit Decision Brief and adds Preliminary quote-risk flags in an intake summary and organized pre-review questions, Secure pre-payment upload of the contractor proposal, revisions, and supporting documents, Manual review by Bryan of the uploaded contractor proposal, Equipment/model, AHRI, rebate, warranty, sizing-basis, and responsibility-gap review, Automatic document-received confirmation after payment, then final Full Quote Review within 1-2 business days. Delivery is final report manually reviewed by bryan shubert within 1-2 business days after payment confirmation and secure quote-document upload.

When should I buy the $19 option versus the $49 option?

Choose $19 when permit questions are blocking your next step. Choose $49 when you already have a contractor quote and need quote red flags, Manual J readiness, equipment/model, rebate, warranty, responsibility gaps, and contractor email or contract language before paying a deposit.

Can I apply a paid $19 Permit Decision Brief toward Full Quote Review later?

Yes. A completed $19 PayPal purchase can be applied once toward Full Quote Review. From the paid Permit Decision Brief confirmation page, upload the quote first; we then verify the original PayPal order before opening the fixed $30 upgrade checkout. The two payments total $49; direct $49 buyers do not need to buy $19 first.

What is the scope boundary?

Scope note: informational pre-check only. Not licensed engineering, not a formal Manual J/S/D, and not a permit approval guarantee. The Permit Decision Brief and Full Quote Review help you ask better pre-signing questions; they do not file permits, approve permits, or replace stamped engineering packages.

How fast do I get each deliverable?

$19 is generated right after intake from your location and project type. The final $49 report is targeted within 1-2 business days after payment confirmation and complete quote-document upload.

Is the $49 report reviewed by a real person?

Yes. The browser first creates a preliminary Full Quote Review Intake Summary. You upload the contractor proposal before payment, then the package is linked to the completed order. Bryan Shubert, Founder & Pre-Contract Documentation Reviewer, manually reviews the final customer-facing Full Quote Review.

Does AI replace Bryan's review?

No. Deterministic logic and optional AI may help organize the preliminary intake summary, but that browser artifact is not the final $49 deliverable. Bryan is responsible for the final manual review.

How are uploaded quote documents handled?

They are uploaded before payment through a private storage flow, linked to the paid order after confirmation, and used only to complete the review. Access is limited to Bryan and service providers needed for storage, payment confirmation, and delivery. Unpaid staged files are configured to expire automatically; paid working files have a deletion target no later than 30 days after payment confirmation unless retention is required for payment, fraud, dispute, accounting, or legal obligations. Earlier deletion may be requested through support.
